United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Santorini Black

Dumb question guys if I got the M10 eyelet connector where would the end go? As it would still be under the bonnet wouldn't it? Or would you get the extension cable and have it in the cab. Then what do I buy to connect to the connector if you know what I mean? As I said it may sound dumb so go easy please Whistle Whistle

The eyelet connector would be connected permanently to the battery. The waterproof connector block would then just sit in the engine bay. You could tuck it under the battery box cover or, for easier access, you could leave it just sticking out (behind the FBH for example). When you want to charge the battery you then just open the bonnet, connect to the waterproof plug and leave it. If you buy the extension lead then the Ctek unit can be positioned in the garage, for example, out of the weather and away from the light-fingered. The waterproof connectors actually come apart quite easily so even if you forgot and tried to drive away the connector would come apart. The extension cable is quite thin so can be easily run out of the engine bay with the bonnet safely locked down.

It sounds more complicated than it is, honestly. Thumbs Up

I have a towing socket so I use the towing socket adaptor (available from the forum shop http://www.disco3.co.uk/shop/tow-electrics...c-p45.html) with the Ctek extension lead. With the RRS backed up close to the garage door, the Ctek unit can then stay in the garage. If I were to drive away with it all connected up, the waterproof plug on the towing socket adaptor would release leaving the extension lead and Ctek unit behind. My RRS would then look like it had a stubby tail as the short lead would be on the towing socket! Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Just about to order one of these (CTEK MXS 5.0 TEST & CHARGE) as I make a lot of short journeys. It was -5C this morning and it took quite a few turns for the beast to start - don't want to kill my battery...

Will it come with everything I need to hook it up straight away? I want to use the comfort connect method - does it come with this or is that an extra? Also do the standard eyelets supplied fit the RRS battery or do I need to order a specific size?

Sorry if that seems like a dumb question but I've only been an owner for less than a week and I've never actually clapped eyes on the battery (everything seems to be under cover when you open the bonnet) Embarassed

P1 as in McLaren P1? Shocked Bow down Bow down

That's a really good price for the MXS5... I was just thinking of getting the one that can do the Battery and Alternator tests as well to help me troubleshoot any issues in the future.

I can see that the comfort cable comes with that one... just need to know if the M6 eyelets will fit the RRS battery now Smile

That's what I've got Ady Thumbs Up

Zaphod, the unit should come with croc clips on a comfort connect lead and ring connectors on a comfort connect lead. You just choose which to use. The rings will fit the smaller bolt on the battery leads from memory. You might want to get the Ctek extension lead (separate item) to give you more options for where you site the charger whilst it's in use. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
