Diff faults "the noise"

I have just brought a rrs 06 HSE with 110k on the clock, on test run l picked up this whine sound which got worst over 60, just constant background and quite high pitch, l thought bearings back but LR have just said diff so are replacing rear diff this is after having just replaced the prop. I get back next week, l am hoping for a quite car!!!!

Can l get anything that will get the front mirrors to fold on locking, it lets me know l have done the job

Other than that, best LR l have had ( previous Defender 90, Disco x 5 )

That's brave - buying a RRS making a noise from the transmission Laughing

Hope the rear diff change fixes it but there are many other potential sources of noises.

I believe it is only possible to enable auto folding of the mirrors at locking on the later facelift models post 2010. The central locking makes quite a clunk though and the lights flash so there shouldn't be any doubt if it is locked. Having said that - failure of the electrically operated door latches is common so make a check that each door is actually locked by pulling the exterior handles. Latches are about £100 and an hour to fit. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

So have they tried replacing the prop bearing first? See if that cures it? I'm not Fat. RRS TDV6 HST.

Moving on

Thanks for that guys, anyone that buys a Landrover shows definite signs of bravery but there is something about this brand that I have not yet found in any of the 100+ vehicles I have owned be it Caterham 7 to Nissan 300zx to Daimler limo, all great cars but nothing like a Landy, I am sure LR will deal with these probs and I look forward to enjoying the ride.
I would still like folding mirrors!!!!!!! Big Cry
