United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Java Black Aerosol Cans

Hi Guys, I've been lurking for a while doing bits and pieces on my MY07 Sport to freshen it up a bit and colour coded some little bits using the guides and tips from others on here so thank you all! The latest bits are definitely coming out better than the first ones I did! I'm wanting to colour code the side skirt door mouldings now to Java black but previously I bought all the paint in aerosol cans from Halfrauds previously - is there somewhere better to get the paint from in aerosol cans?

Thanks for your help so far!

Best to hand it over and leave it to the paintshop experts for the best finish Thumbs Up

They can then mix up the colour correct to your car Mr. Green RRS SUPERCHARGED, 22 INCH ALLOYS, JAVA BLACK, FULLY COLOUR CODED

If you want some proper paint (instead of the coloured water that Halfords sell ) go to your local paint factor and they will fill aerosols for you. A good paint factor can also provide other products needed such as hi-build primer, plastics primer, panel wipe and such things. It is perfectly possible to produce a good finish yourself but it takes a lot of time and patience.

There was thread running on the site a while back on painting with aerosols and some top tips from a forum member who is a pro painter. If you search you should be able to find it. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

The best tips are preparation and time and the end results should be fine. The only thing is drying time and hardening of the paint. Bodyshops bake so drying is simply done in 30mins

Another tip as said above go to a local paint supplier who can mix any colour you want and with large cans.
Plastic primer and wet and dry sanding inbetween coats. I would only use a can on a small part of plastic like a mirror cap anything else body shop.

Personally side mouldings will suffer a lot of chips and weathering so would be better off done at a body shop.
