Hi all,

I was trying (unsuccessfully) to remove my front grill to get to my horn to change it as its broke and I noticed a connector. It's right in the middle behind the dash.
Can anyone tell me what it is. Should it be connected to something and what if it gets wet?

Also any advice to remove the grill to get to my horn would be very much appreciated.

Simple, release the clips on the bonnet slam panel, then tug hard and sharp at each of the bottom corners. Best place a piece of cloth on top the bumper first, just in case you slip and scratch the paint.

Does this mean I can just plug a unit in and it'll work?

I have normal cruise control only at the moment.

When I had my old TDV8 it had the same connector I was told it was unused in the British market and some cars had it and some didn't. You will find it has a 12v supply to it if you ever need one  MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

I have normal cruise control only at the moment.

It might be a connector for the smog detector fitted in the Japanese market vehicles. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Guys.

It IS a connector for a pollution detector, that is mounted
on Japanese cars.

You c a n use it for other things, one of the wires is "live"
when you put ignition on, and will go to sleep when car
goes to sleep.

I was thinking of using it for DRL:s

Well I have to ask, what does a pollution sensor do and why don't we have them?

It monitors the pollution levels outside of the car...








































...and if it gets too bad, it automatically turns the heaters to re-circ, rather than drawing in air from outside. Only fitted to Japanese cars, as they have high smog levels in their cities
