Yes reattach the Fakra connector and then ignore the old aerial lead and thread the new lead down the passenger's side of the car to the Sat nav DVD drive under the passengers seat and connect it to the unit.

That is how I understood it Panda, I would much rather do it your way and solder the old cable onto the new gps aerial board. How did you open the new gps casing?

The only problem doing it this way is if the cable has got water damage further down inside the cable then it will not last, thats why I went for the new cable run just to be sure, The trouble is with this type of cable once water starts to get inside it acts like a capillary action and just draws more inside.

Yes looks ok to me.. Why a 15mm hole ? if your referring to the blue Fakra connector then take it off as in the Pdf file and then its about 6 or 7mm hole that you need.
