United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Galway Green
SE v HSE

Hi all. I'm considering changing my 2007 TDV8 HSE for either a 2010 SE TDV6 Facelift or a 2010 HSE Facelift. The only difference in spec I'm concerned about is that the SE has Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) whereas the HSE has Dynamic Response. What's the difference, & is there a marked difference in cornering? Thanks Thumbs Up

DSC is standard on all Sports as it's part of the overall ABS control system. It uses sensor inputs to determine if stability is being lost and can use changes to engine power and braking (including applying brakes) to control the vehicle. It's tied in to the Terrain Response system so that it has different stability parameters depending on the Terrain Response program being used. It can be turned off temporarily by the driver if required by use of a dashboard switch.

Dynamic Response is a system that uses active anti roll bars to control roll.

Quote:
The Dynamic Response system comprises front and rear stabilizer bars with integral actuators, two accelerometers, a control
module, a hydraulic pump, a valve block and a fluid reservoir.
The Dynamic Response system prevents body roll with cornering forces of up to 0.4 g. From 0.4 g there is a progressive increase
in body roll but significantly lower than on a 'passive' system. A 'passive' system will have a progressive increase in body roll
angle as soon as cornering forces are applied and will have a greater roll angle than the Dynamic Response system for the same
cornering force.
The Dynamic Response system can also detect when the vehicle is driven off-road. If off-road conditions are detected and the
vehicle is traveling at 25 mph (40 km/h) or less, the control module will reduce roll compensation. On side slopes of more than 11
degrees the Dynamic Response system will switch to a 'locked bars' condition at slow speed.
 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I've just realised you have a TDV8. That has both DSC and Dynamic Response. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Thanks RRSTDV8. Tried the SE this morning & its not so tight on the turns so that explains what Dynamic Response does.. Also wasn't that impressed with the 3.0 litre engine against my TDV8 - felt laboured so will look over the coming months for a lowish mileage TDV8 (preferably facelift but they only did the V8 for a year max I think post facelift). Coming home I realised how good the V8 really is.... Very Happy
