A lot of folks are being mistakenly informed that they need the GVIF this is not correct. In order to use the reversing camera you will need to get a BROWN FAKRA connector to connect the video cable from the camera to the Rear of the NAV INFO Screen it will plug into the Brown Center port on your unit. Next you will need to enable the Reversing camera using a CCF (Custom Configuration File) editor within the Nanocom Evolution or a Faultmate unit from Blackbox solutions. The Nanocom is worth every penny so I would buy one and keep it in your tool kit. For the price you pay for the GVIF you get a diagnostic and configuration tool that will allow you to open up hidden functions in your RRS |

Not so for his model year...... Unless you cut the touchscreen cable to get it to think it's a FFRR. For the facelift Rrs you can enable it but it doesn't work on the original. Bodsys Brake Bible

Bodsy, so then if 06 users do the Ribbon cable snip, they will be able to enable the external camera port!

Unfortunately there is no clean way to route the wires around the screen.
