I also have a new RRS Autobiography and I agree with you on the delayed response either from input via screen or any of the direct function buttons! I have yet to raise it with my supplying dealer which I will along with that I get a lot of people flashing me when on low beam supposedly because they think my headlights are on full beam. They do seem to be set a bit higher than my previous RRS! MY2014 RRS Autobiography in Corris Grey, Black contrast roof and Cirrus interior, adaptive lights and side steps.

I had noticed that the lights seem a bit higher but not had anyone flashing me except when there is a slight delay on the auto dip beam. I see a common theme here, 'a slight delay'! some of my Previous cars

There is definitely a delay in the "infotainment" controls responding....but TBH I have learned to deal with it as all other aspects are fine.

I'm pretty sure that the high dip beam headlamps issue is caused by the interaction of the self-levelling suspension and the self-levelling headlamps. I had many people flashing me at first but I have slightly adjusted the headlamp clusters downwards in their entirety and this seems to have greatly reduced the problem without affecting visibility.

Yes I have learnt to live with the touch screen delays, and I also notice that the touch to lock drivers door does not always respond first time, on a couple of occasions I have given up and used the rear door touch to lock. I have 2 other niggles that I am unsure about 1. I would expect the front parking sensors would work from first start up and forward manoeuvre, this maybe something I have missed in the set-up. 2. I have always thought that the total mileage digits now showing 2800 miles that the last 2 digits seem darker "Beige" this is also in line with a darker beige patch in the bottom of the sat-nav direction screen that pops up between the dials. Think I will need a trip to the dealer to put my mind at rest. I think this is the first new car that I have had where I keep saying to myself "I could of improved that! or made that a little better" I do still love the car though. |

I have asked about having the park sensors operate at below a set speed instead of when you select reverse but this appears impossible. It is frustrating to not have them in operation when driving forwards into a parking space. Many people have said they will be going off all the time when you are in traffic if they are on at low speeds but I have had several cars with this feature and I have not had any issues. Do you really get this close to the car in front?

Totally agree Andman, somethings are sweet and somethings are not! I would have thought that they would have got it spot on by now considering they the old sport has been around since 2005!

thats about typical, having had several sports in the past it would appear that many of the niggles that we all experience never get sorted, until we buy a different MY, and that then brings a different set of niggles I suppose thats JLR for you! some of my Previous cars

Re the touch lock issue, I had this for the first year and found it very frustrating.A new service manager then told me to only use my thumb on the lock area not wrap my fingers around the handle. Works great every time now!

Leave the smart key in your pocket and just touch the grooved part on the door handle to lock the car, two touches double lock. |
