United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Arctic Frost
anyone else finding that……………...

Anyone else finding that the touch screen, console controls and steering wheel controls are really really slow to respond? And the door locks on the handles take several attempts to lock by touch!

I have recently taken delivery of a new sport Autobiography, i upgraded from a 2010 Hse sport, and previous to that I have had 3 sports, a couple of Vouges, and Jags etc so I know what to expect, but this new sport seems to have gone a bit backwards in some respects, or is there a soft ware upgrade or something?

Other than that what a superb car! some of my Previous cars

I also have a new RRS Autobiography and I agree with you on the delayed response either from input via screen or any of the direct function buttons! I have yet to raise it with my supplying dealer which I will along with that I get a lot of people flashing me when on low beam supposedly because they think my headlights are on full beam. They do seem to be set a bit higher than my previous RRS! MY2014 RRS Autobiography in Corris Grey, Black contrast roof and Cirrus interior, adaptive lights and side steps.

I had noticed that the lights seem a bit higher but not had anyone flashing me except when there is a slight delay on the auto dip beam. I see a common theme here, 'a slight delay'! some of my Previous cars

There is definitely a delay in the "infotainment" controls responding....but TBH I have learned to deal with it as all other aspects are fine.

As for the lights, I don't think I have had a single day in the last 3 months when I have not been flashed by other cars. I just assumed they were saying hello! Wink Now

I'm pretty sure that the high dip beam headlamps issue is caused by the interaction of the self-levelling suspension and the self-levelling headlamps. I had many people flashing me at first but I have slightly adjusted the headlamp clusters downwards in their entirety and this seems to have greatly reduced the problem without affecting visibility.

The touch sensors in the doorhandles sometimes do seem to need several attempts to lock but this seems to be due to my dry fingers. They work immediately when wet. The most annoying thing about them is that a washleather operates them if you have the key in your pocket when cleaning the car.

All the issues about the touchscreen have been done to death on here. Just do a bit of searching and you will find all you need to know. Regards

Malcolm

Yes I have learnt to live with the touch screen delays, and I also notice that the touch to lock drivers door does not always respond first time, on a couple of occasions I have given up and used the rear door touch to lock. I have 2 other niggles that I am unsure about 1. I would expect the front parking sensors would work from first start up and forward manoeuvre, this maybe something I have missed in the set-up. 2. I have always thought that the total mileage digits now showing 2800 miles that the last 2 digits seem darker "Beige" this is also in line with a darker beige patch in the bottom of the sat-nav direction screen that pops up between the dials. Think I will need a trip to the dealer to put my mind at rest. I think this is the first new car that I have had where I keep saying to myself "I could of improved that! or made that a little better" I do still love the car though.

I have asked about having the park sensors operate at below a set speed instead of when you select reverse but this appears impossible. It is frustrating to not have them in operation when driving forwards into a parking space. Many people have said they will be going off all the time when you are in traffic if they are on at low speeds but I have had several cars with this feature and I have not had any issues. Do you really get this close to the car in front?

I have not seen the "Beige" display issue so I should get this looked at. Regards

Malcolm

The touchscreen infotainment system is either the same speed or slower than my old RRS... They call it progress Shocked

i'll live with it as I knew what I was getting before I bought it...

I'm getting flashed at night time by drivers coming in the opposite direction frequently....Nothing to do with AHBA which

I always seem to monitor anyway...

Agree withAndrew... I keep on questioning this car in some areas , thinking this could of been so much better...

There are some areas where this new RRS is much improved, some where there has been no progress at all and some

where it has simply gone backwards ... Evil or Very Mad 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

Totally agree Andman, somethings are sweet and somethings are not! I would have thought that they would have got it spot on by now considering they the old sport has been around since 2005!

Malcolm I have searched and searched the forums for the issue with the slowness of the infotainment system and associated buttons but as yet I have not found anyone who has come up with a fix, am I missing a post somewhere? some of my Previous cars

thats about typical, having had several sports in the past it would appear that many of the niggles that we all experience never get sorted, until we buy a different MY, and that then brings a different set of niggles Evil or Very Mad I suppose thats JLR for you! some of my Previous cars

Re the touch lock issue, I had this for the first year and found it very frustrating.A new service manager then told me to only use my thumb on the lock area not wrap my fingers around the handle. Works great every time now!
I also get flashed now and again.

Leave the smart key in your pocket and just touch the grooved part on the door handle to lock the car, two touches double lock.
