I've maintained an m3 for 5 years, and previously another m3 for 4... So I am sure I will be prepared for any "surprises".

Many thanks for all your input so far.

I maybe wrong but are the turbos more prone to fail on the TDV8?

What do you guys think of the following RRS's...

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HSE Santorini Black

1st one for me. Best clour, lovely wheels and if it's a genuine HST, great residuals (compared to the other 2)

Not a fan of the Hamann one. Body kit looks a bit odd

The 3rd one is just Censored

Another vote for the tdv8 Thumbs Up

Not much differences in mpg but the v8 sounds mint, even better if you remove the rear box's like I have Whistle

I never understand this reply.

I didn't see the word worried? he was simply asking how much better the 2.7 is over the 3.6. For all he knows the difference could be 10mpg better, which over a year is £600 on a 12,000 miles pa. So combining that with other pros and cons is how people make a decision on which model to go for.

In reality we know that the difference isn't much so IMO don't use that to help you decide which on to go for.

Thanks again for the constructive replies.

Taking out the MPG comparison which has the more reliable engine?

What coming faults should I be looking at for the V6 and V8 engines?

Going back to the number "1" advert I listed above , nice car but how much would the car be valued at if it was a real HST? (The one listed is a HSE with factory fitted HST kit). I assume full HST's are more desirable ?

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Real HSTs have more kit, most notably the locking rear differential. HSEs that have a body kit added to look like a HST are probably worth the same as the HSE they actually are. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It wasn't really aimed at the OP specifically but rather that we have seen people on here who buy a RRS and then struggle to fund the reality of them when they go wrong. Just trying to point out that fixing costs will be more noticeable than fuel costs in most cases. Perhaps my comment was a little more brusque than was intended.

By way of illustration, however, I get around 420 miles from a tank in my TDV8 doing a mix of 45 mile-each-way (mostly dual carriageway) commute plus about 35 miles a day local running around (town and country lanes). I don't think that too bad for a 2.5 tonne 4x4. And as a cost issue (in comparison to the same done in a 2.7DTV6) it's nothing compared to the several grand it's had spent on it in repairs this year... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
