I have had two previous occassions of my Low Fuel Warning light coming on, When i know there is over Half a tank of Fuel. Once on my 2.7 HSE and once on my 3.0 HSE. Both times the warning light went out the following day. Now it has come on again on my 10MY 3.0 HSE i have a full tank. And the light is still on after 3 days Surely if the sender float is sitting on top of the fuel when you switch off, it should give the same reading when you switch on again?. Or could it be a loose conection on the wiring. Strange it has happened on two of my cars itisme

You need to get it looked at. A friend had an issue with his RRS that left him stranded on the side of the road with half a tank of fuel. Apparently the system thinks it's about to run out so shuts down (no idea why but that's what happened to him). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It's probably so you can't run the diesel system dry, otherwise you would have to prime the system again, does the diesel rrs have a hand priming pump?

We know why its there,.But would like to know why it comes on when the tank has half /full tank of fuel. Have heard that someone had corrosion of the wire connection to the sender,but this cannot be accessed because its on top of the tank, and there is not an accessed plate from the top.Another idea by manufacturer to extract lots of cash from owners,tank out to clean contacts wires.  itisme

i had this - it's the sensor in the tank. it's knackered.
known prob on some specific models...Land Rover replaced.

Would you beleave the Low Fuel Warning Light has finally gone out and the guage is showing what i knew to be 3/4 full. That is around a week showing low fuel. This is the second time with this car. and it has rectified itself both times at start up. It came up with a fault code C0700 anyone know what this is?

This stayed off ,and showed correct fuel level for a week. I filled up with fuel it was still fine. Had a 50 mile trip on M25, still OK. On my return trip i was at traffic lights on approach to slip road, i was in second lane and needed to be sharp to get onto slip road before two cars towing caravans on my N/S.I floored the accelerator,and took off. After a couple of seconds it stopped accelerating. I took my foot off and started again, it was Ok again. But the dash lit up with lots of warnings Gearbox Fault, Electric Handbreak Fault Stability light came on and Low Fuel warning light. The car was driving OK. I had to carry on for 4 Miles to services. When i switched off, and switched back on again,all the warning lights went out,accept the low fuel warning light.Thats has been on for 4 days now i have refueled to full again and still on. then i came out this morning. Everything is back to normal,light out and fuel guage reading Ok  itisme

Mine started this earlier this week. A full tank of fuel and the low fuel warning came on and the fuel gauge showed empty. It started working properly a few minutes later then went off again. Dealer replaced the sensor unit in the tank but interestingly Landrover Approved would not cover the cost but Landrover did, not the dealer. Sorry, I don't know the part number or cost.

All working now.

I have just been informed by an Indie technition that this is a problem known to Landrover, And they have not put out an official recall, but have put out a modification. Maybe that is why Landrover paid for yours to be repaired. When Approved Used refused to pay. Has anyone got any info on this. As always Manufacturers keep quiet about these things, as do main agents. Maybe they charge Customer then claim off manufacturers itisme

Why do Main Agent insist on putting your car on Dignostic Link Up. When the onboard Computor is telling them there is a fault with the fuel sensor. They will not give you an estimated price until they do the diognostics, which they charge between 1/2 an hour to 1 hour for itisme
