Ctek help please

Hi- I've just purchased a ctek battery charger, and also the tow electrics adapter to connect to.
The instructions on the tow electric adapter are beyond me.
Does anyone use one who could explain it to me please? Also, do you have to removed the tow panel every time to use it? I presume you do. If so its probably simpler to just plug it into the battery? Stand by for a for sales item!
Many thanks
Neil

Can't help you with the wiring from direct experience but if you search the site including Disco 3 sister site there are some good guides. However can see that you'd have to remove the cover every time for access. For simplicity its hard to beat just using croc clips onto the battery terminals; or for a slightly more convenient connection you could use the 'comfort connector' accessory. The latter connects permanently to the batt terminals providing a weatherproof plug to use for connecting. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Can you clarify?

Do you need instructions on how to wire the tow plug to the CTEK changer(make your own adapter)?

Or you purchased an already made CTEK to Tow electrics adapter?

You have to have the two 7 pins plugs set up or the 13 pins plug on your car.

Yes you have to remove the cover everytime(or just leave it off if you plan to use it every day).

Main advantage over the battery connection is that with it you can close the car and set the alarm.
Also, depending on how you park your car, it can be more stealthy.
You can make it in a way that you will not damage anything should you forget to unplug it a depart with car. '08 RRS TDV8

As far as I can work out, this charger works through the White socket or power supply to caravan socket and not tow electrics. Not sure how it works as most sockets are protected by a relay that only energises when it detects alternator is charging. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Yes, it works through the white socket(12s).
The pin #4 is always connected.

The adapter works through the pin 4(battery positive) and the pin 3(earth)

Made one myself, works great.

Adapters can be made for the 13 pins socket too '08 RRS TDV8

I have a ctek with 13 pin adapter and think it's excellent Cool

Removing tow cover is not an issue for me as this means I can double lock vehicle and leave bonnet down secure. I wouldn't want to connect direct to battery knowing how tempremental these vehicles are Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
