looking for some advice if anyone can assist

Hi All,

I just bought a MY10 RRS with 40,000 miles on the clock. I bought it from an approved Land Rover dealer in Glasgow and they got it MOT'd prior to me picking it up. Now I have it the advisory notes with the MOT says both front lower and both rear upper suspension arms have slight play in front ball joint and rear pin/bush.

For a car with only 40,000 miles on it I find this a bit alarming, can anyone tell me if this is a common issue or even if this is something you would expect the dealer to fix? I do have 2 years Land Rover warranty with the car, so would this type of fault if it gets worse be covered?

thanks in advance for any advice you experienced owners can provide

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 Autobiography Santorini Black

Bushes and drop links lower wish bones and upper are known to wear fairly quickly I'm afraid. 2.5 tonnes of metal sitting on all that rubber Shocked
I would say depends on driving style road conditions but 40k is probably average for them to start to show wear and knocking. Easy fixes for the bushes but I don't think Land Rover will cover as they say wear and tear. Rolling Eyes

It's got to be worth going back to them - after all, if you'd known that info before handing over your money you might have taken a different approach to your haggling. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

It is a common issue, but worn bushes are classed as wear and tear, so it's pot luck if they pay out under warranty or not Sad

thanks for all the feedback, it does beg the question though as to which moving parts fall under wear and tear and which ones dont? Confused
