Rear Pad Lifespan?

15000 miles (max) seem right? Its actually probably less, more like 12000.

Had new rear discs & pads at a service Jan 2012. In the time since, its been to France twice (1500 miles each), Belgium once (500 miles) and Ireland about 7 times (1200 miles each), one of which had a 300 mile tow. Rest of the time its in London. So a lot of that mileage is motorway.

Brakes have been squeaking for a few weeks (not sure if front or rear) and I was going to whip them out and coppa grease them but driving out to Uxbridge yesterday, brakes started grinding from the rear and pad wear indicator came on Big Cry

So obviously I've got to get pads and probably new rear discs but is it usual to wear them out in that short a space of mileage?

It really depends on your style of driving. For me I would expect more than that to be honest .

Also depends which pads you replaced them with too. Sounds like your rear brakes have been sticking to wear out so quick. Whistle

I rarely got more than 15000 miles out of my rears infact they triggered sensor before fronts but usually was towing with mine or driving it like a hooligan. Never had any issue with calipers until FullFat killed pads and discs on a round trip to Cumbria. The entire rear lot was scrap by time I got home 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

no idea, mine have never come on, as its always the opposite side that seems to wear down first ( the warning system is only on one side of the vehicle, not both ) any motor factors will get them for you next day, they range from £30 for Mintex upto about £130 a set for Brembos. I rum Brembos front and Mintex rears 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))
