2008 Sport

A mate of mine is looking at a 2008 Sport 2.7 diesel. I had told him to ask if the timing belts were done.
The garage selling the Sport says that they were changed to Chains. I still thought all 2.7s were belts ,but thought I would ask the question.

Cheers Jock Confused

Mine is definitely belts (Just done at 7 years) and as far as I'm aware all 2.7 TDV6's are? I wouldn't of thought it was feasible to convert to chain either. Sounds like cock and bull - steer clear.

In other words they don't want to do the belts as part of the sale conditions, sound like the perfect garage not to buy from Thumbs Up 2015 Golf R DSG

Not a reason to not buy the car, just factor a replacement into the price Thumbs Up

Be aware of oil pump issues on the 07/08's too.

The pump was changed half way through 2008. Only way to check is to strip it down

Have thought about moving to Oz for the last 10 years. Too late now, married with kids, and the wife doesn't want to leave Scotland...
