I've gone down to the car this morning and I need to get some bits into the boot.....bad news is that I cannot press the boot button, it seems to be frozen stuck!! Has anyone ever had this happen?

Last night was the first cold night however I'd hardly consider it as cold enough to cause this level of problem. It does then concern me going forward that am I going to be stuck every time the temperature drops.

If you update your profile we might be able to help you with the problem by knowing which model of sport you have.

Boot release programmed on your fob??

Boot release on the dash work?

Split tailgate or one piece?

I have the same issue.
and don't try to push it in as it will remain pushed in and not come out

Right, so I've just been back out to the car and it was definitely frozen this morning and I'm a little worried that this has happened on the first occasion of cold weather. I live in London so hardly get the real rural cold nights yet the boot was unusable this morning!

As far as I know there isn't a button on the dash to open the boot so I'll be stuck everytime the temp drops below freezing?!

Program you key fob to activate the boot (instructions in the handbook and on here).

Also worth seeing if your switch is on the way out - plenty of threads on here about faulty boot releases.
If it's not the switch, I'd also treat the area to a generous helping of GT85 (better than WD-40 IMO) to repel water and stop it freezing in the future.

I had a look in my handbook and it says I can program to do the following:

• Panic alarm.
• Headlamp courtesy delay.
• Air suspension control.

No boot open.

I've had a search but can't find anything on here. Could you point me in the right direction?

It appears that the online manual only had those options but the paper one in the car does have all of them!

Okay, so I've been outside and I've reprogrammed the fob however it now opens the top glass rather than the entire tailgate. This is despite pushing the main boot button rather than the top bit of glass.

Any ideas why that is?!

Redo the programming I used to have that prob but second attempt used to solve.

I've had a 55 & 58 plate before current and cannot recall specs. Is there a lock and unlock button on the dash? Press both together for a couple of secs and boot opens IIRC

Get some WD40 and sray around the outside of the button try and get the oil in as far as it will go that should help

Despite playing around last night I just can't get the button to unlock the main boot however it does unlock the glass bit so it's a compromise and of more use than the panic alarm that was on there originally.

I have also been out with the WD40 to try and avoid the frozen button issue happening again. It's an odd one, it's the first car I've had that has ever suffered from this and I would haven't have said that Tuesday night/Wednesday morning was cold enough to have frozen it that solid!!

Extra thanks to MAW for your suggestion of pressing both lock/unlock buttons together on the dashboard, that works a treat so if, in the future, the WD40 fails me I'll now be able to get boot access.
