Hi not heard of a gearbox remap, but, am always interested to read about engine remaps and what real life improvements (if any) people report.

You would possibly benefit from a gearbox reset and a transfer box recalibration. It would then all start working with factory settings to adapt itself to your new (more powerful) driving style.

Ive just had mine done today (2006 2.7) and I can tell the difference. Ive only had a short journey in rush hour traffic though, but where I had an opportunity to "give it some" it did feel good. That god damn awful slow hesitation from start off to 2nd has greatly improved. Im going to hopefully get the terraclean done at the weekend as well, to smooth out a few more creases, then the next job after that is blanking the egr valves. Hopefully should feel more of a difference. The real test will be when I set off for work in the morning, as thats when its normally feels really guff, so i'l let you know in the ext few days how it feels. The guy who did mine does a lot of work for some of the more expensive styling companies, who charge their customers a fortune for the maps he sells them for a 1/4 of the price! lol 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester) http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic46383.html |

Yup, drive to work was soooooooooo much better. Gear changes felt good, and she nipped along nice. Slight hesitation at 1st, but not enough to ruin the drive.

Sorry, ECU remap! Lol... SRE, I didn't realise the car defaults to 2nd gear.... Why on earth would they design it to do that???? 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester) http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic46383.html |

The guy who did my remap also does the Terraclean. I had a good chat with him about it when the ECU was being done, and he said it really does make a difference. He was one of the first people in the UK to be offered it, as he does a lot of work for whatever company owns the UK rights, but he turned it down because he thought it was yet another bull type cleaner hitting the market. Anyway, long story short, he ended up getting it a few years after it had been in the UK, but only after having it demonstrated on his work van and mums 160k corsa.... and he said the results were great.

I'd be interested to know if it's any good too, though I'm very wary.
