ECU Update - 2006 TDV6 - Manchester/Rossendale - Autologic

The new (to me) car is going in to my local Indi at some point this week for a full inspection. I noticed that they also do the Autologic ECU update.

On my drive home last night from Wales, I decided that this was a Priority (ECU update), as Ive just come from a 3.0 BMW 5 Series, which pulled like a train, and tbh the RRS felt a bit pathetic. I knew the power was lower for my model.

Ive had a search on the forum but they all seem to be old references to Autoligic, and was wondering if anyone had any recent experience. Or, if there is anyone who can be recommended in the Manchester/Rossendale area's.

As always, help appreciated. 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

Spain

Pete Bell (BAS) gets a lot of Thumbs Up on both this and the Disco Forum, plus his aftersales support is first class.

So it looks like at the moment I have 3 to choose from:

* Autologic
* BAS
* Hyperchips

So whats the difference between them? Is there anything except price/service? Im not expecting the car to shift like a Ferrari, but have been told to get one done by a reputable company. 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

Darren, only you can choose.

Read up on here and the Disco Forum, I myself have the BAS, this set up lets you remove the re map when your car goes in for a service, just in case the Garage flashes your ECU. Plus the BAS hardware lets you read and clear basic engine faults yourself.

There is pages and pages of info on these forums, use the search function

Speaking from experience, the Autologic map is a "safe" generic map. In would be surprised if it made 225bhp of the claimed 240...

Just had a chat with Steve at Hyperchips, who's going to remap the car for me.

He's locally based, and does a lot of work in the area for DAP Cars in Cheshire (Revere Agents), and a few other dealers/garages around my neck of the woods.

TBH I think it will be enough for what I need...... Another few quid to hide from the Mrs..... Whistle

Do you thin its worth having the Terraclean done at the same time? The guy does this service, and im wondering if its worth having it done? 2006 HSE for Sale - £7,499 (Manchester)

Darren, I had my car done by Steve (Remap) the day after you, honestly cannot believe the difference, its actually enjoyable to drive now....

Let me know how the Terraclean goes, may have to invest in one.

Cheers
