If you leave it unlocked then it'll never go to sleep. If it stays awake then it uses lots of battery juice. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

That's how mine used to be, although not as long as a week. Car is only three and a half years old, so I'd expect a battery to last a little longer than that. Always owned Jaguars before switching to Range Rover, and typically a battery would last around six years. 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE |

Just spoken to my dealer, who stated that when the battery in the RRS gets low, the car never recharges it fully - just maintains it at the same level. He reckons it's unlikely that the battery should fail after three years, so suggested putting it on a trickle charge overnight with a very low amp battery charger, and see if that sorts out the problem.

Whilst a battery, if the car is used normally, should last longer than 3.5 years, I doubt that any car dealer or manufacturer would do anything other that laugh at the thought that they should in some way contribute towards a replacement since they cannot know whether the battery has been mistreated or not. |
