Perhaps those of us who care about Land Rover patching their software to prevent such easy key cloning should all call them on 0370 5000500 and tell them how concerned we are. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Yeah we should all call them and blame them for the stupid EU rules that prohibit them and all car manufacturers from blocking the OBD port! Or the fact that they have to share all of their information with dodgy backstreet garages who for all you know could have cloned your key during a service because again, EU rules state car manufacturers have to share this information and are not allowed to exclusively have access to such things as the OBD port.

Well, BMW, Audi and LR got a good spanking. We can but hope that LR will stop denying there's a problem and sort it out. The Beeb programmed the key for the Evoque in 10 seconds... Mark

As a former BMW owner (got stolen ironically) I can assure you that I can put a link up showing them doing it in approximately 20 seconds, but like the program, that's with the door open. Can show you them opening the door without force in just over 1 minute too.

I don't think watchdog are helping the crims.. they're already many steps ahead of watchdog, hence all the motors already going missing. It seemed not too long ago (and it's still a recurring issue) that in the West Midlands area especially, that Focus RSes were going missing almost nightly and sometimes 2-3 per night using the same methods (keyless entry as standard).

A friend who owns an audi rang the helpline number given on watchdog to be told there's nothing they can do, that all manufacturers use the same basic system and it's the owners responsibility to take steps to secure their vehicle - so much for them working to resolve the problem Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
