Sorry to be so contradictive but it can, ive fitted the RRS2010 heated wheel and paddles to my D4 a slightly different modification to how i probabaly would fit to a RRS 2010 but it is possibile.

So what kind of cost would that be then and could it be fitted to a MY08 rrs supercharged?

The MY08 car is a different kettle of fish to a MY2010 car, there are a few reasons, the steering wheel is different to start with and the MY08 was never a option in paddle form where as the MY2010 is so is available.

The second part is that the MY08 cars wheel communicates to the rest of the car the car via "Resistive ladder" where as the MY2010 uses LIN Bus "Local interconnect network"

This means that the protocall for the wheel controls are different in the 2 cars and leaves it so it cant be a straight forward swap from MY2010 to MY08

They have also changes the CAN bus signals on the MY2010 from what would be on your MY08 which is 29Bit CAN to the new Ford protocall which is now 11Bit CAN.


So in a nut shell a MY08 is totally different in build to a MY2010, that said it is still possibile but it would have to use the original wheel and some extra momenteray switches located somehwere in the plastic cowle instead of the real MY2010 paddle set.

If you can find a nice location for some extra switches/buttons in your MY08 car i can tell you how to do it for very little money.

Thanks for your reply pete, so on my MY10 - assuming i were to acquire a new steering wheel with the paddles what kind of further modificatin would be necessary and how extensive would it be? - not to keen on having too many panels ripped off if you know what i mean. Also any idea of costs?

The mod can go 2 ways, 1st is a CCF edit to enable them as factory which would be 150+vat, the 2nd is a wireless mod which needs a bit of addon circuirty so would cost a little bit more with fitting.

Re fitting, its a 16mm bolt to hold the wheel on so no panals ripped off lol and even if it were it would be more taken of with caution than ripped off.

Hi all, I am looking to fit paddle shifters to my 2011 RRS, does anyone know of anywhere on the south coast (Hampshire if poss) that can carry out the necessary recoding for me?

I am (was) a competent mechanic, however ill health has seen me rely more & more on others, so if at all possible I would like them to carry out the fitting & coding.

So the bottom line is no it can't be retrofitted to a 2010 car unless you want to a) spend a fortune and b) start messing with canbus and ecu's which I wouldn't do full stop.  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

ive had paddle shift in a couple of previous cars (Mini Cooper auto, BMW 335d, BMW 640d, Mercedes GL) I hardly ever used it. It strikes me as being a little gimmicky especially if you use your car every day in 'normal' usage. On the track maybe different. Modern Autos are generally pretty good at being in the right gear at the right time.

I test drove my new RRS yesterday and didn't even think about trying the paddles. Am I missing something regarding use of paddles in a Range Rover? Range Rover - 4.4SDV8 Autobiography - Corris and Black
