Tdv8 without rear box's

If you have a tdv8 you must get the rear box's taken out.

I took out the both rear box's and replaced with straight pipes and 3.5" tails.

The result is amazing!!! Nice burble on tickover, no extra noise when cruising on motorway or off turbos but when you hit the loud pedal and spool the turbo in it sounds like thunder....

It doesn't even sound like a dirty diesel anymore (well apart from the noise upfront), it seems the best of both worlds as when you want to cruise along in quite mode it's no different but when you want it to loud it can be.

Best £200 I've spent on the sport!!

Why would the MOT tester care about a missing silencer?

Do they do a Db check during an MOT? I thought it was just during registration of a vehicle! I.e you built a car, or first test of manufacturer spec! I can't say I've checked but then ive only had tested standard exhausted vehicles. 2007 RRS 2.7 HSE - Java Black

Yeah I'm sure there's a legal limit, a lot of my biker mates are pulled every now and then for dropping baffles out or running race exhausts, cars on the other hand tend to not be as noisy just more growley Laughing if that's even a word, I'm sure a V8 will sound a lot more natural than a 1.0 with a cherry bomb Mr. Green 2007 RRS 2.7 HSE - Java Black

There are no specific noise limits but the is an excessive noise from exhaust section.

The noise is just deep and sounds like thunder, on tickover it's sounds really good. I don't think they do that in an mot but I'll find out on Monday.

I've also had a p1 with straight through exhaust and that was LOUD but still not problems with an mot.

It would be hard to capture the sound while driving but if anyone's local to leeds I'll take you out in it. I personally didn't think it would sound like this.
