Your attitude towards 2 unknown persons driving off in your £25k car amazes me! I would be on the phone or down to every police station within 50 miles.

Also, as I said, go to the sellers house. Take some friends or explain the situation to the police, and ask if they will go for you.

I would start making some sort of noise ASAP before your car ends up in a container on its way out of the country. LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

Based on what the Police say tonight tomorrow they'll lay out your legal position and options, if there are any. When did the Police take the car? You done anything since then and now about it? If not why not? Is the cash you paid with OK??

Fake coppers probably took your car, if you go to the house he will probably have moved on sounds like a well planed scam to me

Sag, I was't ok with the police taken away my car, but why could I do, They were in uniform and I was in shock that this happened to me. I will pop down to police station now and see what they will do

The police took the car away last Wednesday. I made call to the number shown on the police name card. The told me its handling by the london police. i asked for a reference number, they gave it to me but also said that's only their number and not too sure if it's the case number.

i called up one of the officer and she also told me the same thing that the case is dealing by the london police. I am absolutely devastated, that's why I post on the forum and seek help and advise.

I didn't take any pic of the paper work. The took all the original and I thought I must give it to them if I want this person to be caught.

As a priority you need to go to your local Police Office and speak to someone there about this. If the car has been seized by the Police, a check on the Police National Computer will show where it is and who's dealing with the case (along with contact details) and you will be able to contact them for more information. Any Police Officer can carry out this check.

It would be normal practice to seize all the paperwork relating to your purchase of the vehicle and also to obtain a statement from you, and those with you, about the circumstances, not least of all to get the address of the person you bought it from and a physical description of the seller. You say this was not done which makes me highly suspicious of the two who took the car. It would also be normal practice to get you to sign 'labels' attached to each piece of evidence (i.e. each piece of paper taken) and also for the car and the keys.

How sure are you that the two 'officers' were genuine? Did you see any identification? Were they in uniform or plain clothes? If in uniform was it a marked car?

You mention phoning them, is this from the details they provided to you, which could be false, or through a Police Office switchboard, which could be genuine.

You rely on the comment that the Police attended at the request of DVLA as a truth, this also could easily be false so don't rely on it too much.

You seem reluctant to do so, but a visit to your local Police Office is essential as the longer you wait the less easy it will be to follow this up if it is a scam. Cheers

I hope after being told by countless people ... that you now go straight to the police station....

At least you will know the full extent of this fraud and whether it involves impersonating a police officer..

If it does and whatever the outcome ... you will be in the right place to start the ball rolling and getting some answers.. 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

i would go down now and report it stolen.
Probably not the best advice, but if i were in your positon i would report it stolen, say it was stolen of your drive, and that you were intimidated/frightened by what you now realise were fake police officers. They will soon tell you if it were genuine
