If address and VIN matched how could it be stolen?
I think that the man who sold it to you now has it back on his own drive as you (stupidly) paid him in cash so cannot prove you purchased it from him

Yes, the address and VIN matched. I am guessing it's a fake V5, but it has all the watermark and stuff. My mechanic friend also checked the V5 and couldn't spot any error as well.

Get down to the police station and demand a crime reference number...

Ask why nothing has been done and no questions asked about the fraud.

Insist on speaking to a senior officer if you don't get the right answers. 2014.5 SDV6 AB Dynamic ... Fuji /Santorini Pan roof and 22's

My car was purchased with a loan. The car had an HPI marker against it however Barclays lifted the marker once the garage/myself got in touch with them. (They marked the car as it was their loan)
The loan turned out to be fraudulent and whatever was purchased with the loan (my car)then became "proceeds of crime" so had to be seized. The police were great and gave me the car back within two weeks. I was lucky, 8 other people had the same thing happen and 2 of them never got their cars back.
The loans were all taken out to buy RRS. All the paperwork IE bills, passports etc, were fraudulent.

My word of advice to anyone, after my experience, is to purchase from a reputable garage. I got my lawyers involved who advised me that the garage never sold with good title so they had to reimburse. Thankfully it never came to that.

You are the lucky one, at least you have your car back.

I paid with cash, and the selling don't have good title to the car since it's a cloned car. I am left with no car and £23K out of my pocket.

And how can the cop catch this criminal and put him in bail if they are not getting information from me.

Why are they not getting information from you? Are you not going to the police?

Something doesn't add up here, the police should never take any possession from anyone, cloned or not, without giving a receipt and/or some paperwork stating reason for taking it

I am not too sure should I go to the local police station. I called up the police officer who took the car away and he said this is a theft case belongs to the Metro Police in London and not too sure if they will contact me or not.

Then I came to a question: Theft case? It surely is a scam for me

I am not too sure if I should go to the seller house. Firstly, he might have moved already. Secondly, if they are a big scam group, it might be abit dangerous to do this

Well, the police did certainly took my car away. The did not leave any paper work nor asked me to sign anything. The didn't even wait for the toll, one officer just jumped into the car and drove off

Down the station now and tell them everything.

Based on above solicitor tomorrow.

With what you have said it all sounds staged and that sounds soooo far fetched... I guess for 23k some will do anything....

i friend of mine bought a car a few years back, got pulled over,a year or so later, suspected it was a cloned car, then was arrested on the spot, through no fault of his own.
They took the car, took him down the station, questioned etc......anyway released no charge, had the car back after 6 weeks, turned out to be ringed, they stamped a new number on top of the strut under the bonnet.Lived happilyy ever after

I really hope this is the case for me as well and I can have the car back later.

The different is I don't even have the log book on my name yet, it came to an alert when i sent off the form to DVLA. The asked the cops to come and verify the car and take it away if it's anything wrong. They took everything from me.

Both keys,

The buyer part of the V5

All the history

The written receipt from the seller when I brought the car.

I literately have nothing with me
