Advice needed please

Hi everyone, just joined the forum and looking at buying a rrs 2006 tdv6 and need a bit of advice, the car has done 105k with full service history and is in outstanding condition, when I poped the Bonnet the engine was warm but not hot and there was a fan spinning, the gentleman said this was a viscous coupling fan that should be on and works Wether hot or cold, is this true as I am selling my soul to the devil to buy this and want a good one, many thanks

A viscous coupling is not an electric motor ! The silicon gets thicker at higher temperature so as the engine temperature gets higher the fan drive is a more positive and direct connection meaning it spins faster.

It should slow down and stop when engine is off.

Don't sell your soul to buy the first RRS you see. Spend some time looking and on this forum (1 month) then look for the right car. Be prepared to travel. Plenty of nice ones around, one from a forum member may be the best bet. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
