TDV8 gone bang 70k miles

Hope someone can give me some help my rrs tdv8 yesterday broke down on overtaking I have been advised that the engine is locked and the intercoolers full of oil turbo failure caused this.
I was told that there will prob be engine damage as it was on high revs when it went.
How sure will it be that engine damage occurred and not just the turbo.
Car has full history and I do have it well looked after
Any advise or help appreciated .

Sorry to hear your bad news Big Cry If the turbo has gone at high revs and under full load as you say, then i think its safe to say, "you are looking at a new engine" Sad Obviously you will need to get this checked out for conformation, but it doesn't sound good.

Yet another....... LR are beginning to look a bit silly🔫
Mine did something similar at low revs, resulting bill was £16k, and 8 pages if parts. The most likely cause will be oil seal failure in the turbo, filling the engine intake with sump oil. It could be hydraulic'd on its own oil, remove heater plugs and turns over, more likely it's seized due to lack of oil in sump. Been there done that..... Big Cry 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

Damn feel sorry for you!
Mine approaching 70k, I'm hoping the fact that I'm maintaining it by main dealer will help towards mitigating such crap. Any other advice to avoid turbo failing guys? 07 TDV8 + BAS map

Was speaking to a turbo specialist the other day, said the most common cause of TDV8 turbo issues is lack of oil from a blocked oil feed pipe

He recommended an engine flush every service, to.clear out any deposits, or replace the pipe every 3 years...
