From memory, it is around 3.5-4 hours to cool naturally. Less in the middle of winter, obviously

When the car is parked up when warm, you get a degree of 'heat soak' so the temperature actually increases by a few degrees after switching off

I recently did a triple flush on my box, the gear box was at 25c when I started. And after
Each drain and refill if was run for 2-3 mins through every gear. When filling for the third
And final time the gear box temp was only 45c.

I had my tdv8,s gearbox oil flushed about 2 weeks ago by Geoff since then the car drives much quieter and gear changes are faultless so smooth so i can highly recommend it being done he comes to you too

All customers now will be asked to watch the level check procedure and look at live data on Autologic Diagnostics 30-50 degrees as stated on Topix.
The thing is, i guarantee every time the level is checked afterwords you will have a slight level indifference of be it 10-100 mls due to temperature change. Even within Land Rover level check specification 30-50 degrees. The Autobox has a dry fill capacity of 9500mls of ZF6HP SPEC OIL. All this scare mongering is not required and I would be quite happy to have a chat with anyone about the work that is carried out as opposed to have my business bad mouthed on a public forum.

I started my business from a £2000 loan off my parents which I paid back and me and my father built my first workshop from the ground up on an evening and weekends whilst still working full time. I moved to a larger workshop on my own 4 years ago and I now have 3 ex-dealer technicians and 2 full time parts staff and myself. None of this has come from ripping people off, just hard work and honesty.
Most days you would think we were a dealer looking in our car park at cars waiting to be repaired and serviced. We are just a family run independent specialist. I have invested massively into the business from having nothing.

I don't post on here as often as I should and there is one simple reason for this, i am just too busy. So I miss a lot of posts about my business.

Richard, I'm sure no-one's intention was to bad mouth your business. It is only understandable that there will be concerns about such an important procedure and with the TCM being so sensitive to temperature. Questions are only asked for the benefit of all members and I'm sure many sponsors can sympathise with how busy you are.

Reading this I think my 08 TDv8 HST could do with a gearbox flush.Anyone know of any good independants that do it in North Wales area up to about 30-40 miles radius ?
