Some Face lifted models will have newer components ie wings - bumpers & newer version Lights ( Black Edition - not grey ) also these new components are predominately Autobiography spec not the standard HSE. I have recently sold mine but at a price that in my opinion was right. 10MY Sports do have the better interior - but I agree with you to a point some sellers are living in a dream world.

As a side bar, it amases me what some folk think their cars are worth. Having done the dealer circles and been told my car is worth frig all yet theirs is a kings ransom, I too started trawling the small ads to seek a more balanced figure to change, and like SPX, found 2006-2007 at 5000 plus more than they should be regardless that owners spent 3-4k face lifting their cars. Personally, I prefer a 100% standard car that I can then choose what I do to enhance/individualise. Even with a face lift kit fitted, there are far to many other telltale signs the car is 7-10 years old and not 5 years or less.

The advert looks like it has gone now but there was a facelift 3.6 TDV8 HSE with 130k miles on Auto Trader for £19,995.

Was it by any chance one of those adverts where the seller puts an email address in a picture and insists on email only contact due to, for example, "being out of country"?
I part exchanged my 09 HSE 2.7 with 49k miles for significantly above £20k few months ago. |

An '09 with 49k miles isn't in the same ballpark value wise as a 59 plate (iirc) facelift TDV8 with 130k on. |

^^^ Exactly my point: shouldn't a 59 plate facelift V8 even with 130k miles be dearer than 09 plate pre-facelift V6 with 49k miles? Or the high mileage really makes such a huge difference to wipe out the gains of V8 over V6 and of new interior vs old? |

Mileage is about 75% of a vehicles value; a lot of people come out in a cold sweat at a car that hits 100k miles, hence the strength for 'low' mileage prices.

I am sure you will find what you're looking for at a good price. Facelift RRS1 will take a hit soon even if it hasn't already |

There are cars,and there are cars, Some 5 year old cars look like they have just come off the production line. And drive the same. Irrespective of mileage. Then you have the younger car with lower mileage ,that looks like it was used as builders truck.I did not like the dig that my dealer was drunk or on drugs,with the insinuation i was l telling porkies. All of the cars i have owned look better than a lot of cars on dealers sites.So much so, i have no problems selling at a good price private,or as PX Have a look on my Gallery itisme |

Apologies if that came across the wrong way but in my experience, car traders value vehicles based on three things;
