Just had the vehicle recovered, it had been towing for about 7 days, On the morning in question it
came up with Restricted Performance indicator (Red Triangle) followed quickly by the Engine Management light (Amber), The vehicle has been recovered to Cairns to a local dealer. Searching the net and in particular the D3/4 forums it seems a common problem when towing, i beleive there was a software and ECU update to overcome this, but cannot find a Tech Bulletin anywhere, does anyone on here know the respective details

software is not going to fix you car
you need to address the fault (so computer diagnostics included)
and repair it

my money on boost issues : (throttle body (or seals)
csov valve sticking tsov valve sticking for the begining

well after being delivered on a flat bed to Cairns from over 450 KM's away, i should hope the dealer could quickly

BK current personal out of pocket expense is 1640 tow charges, 380 air fares, plus 98
ferry to hamilton island to get flights back to Sydney, assuming it will cost me at least
another 400 to 500 to get back to Cairns the minimum outlay at the moment including
filling up my lift back to Airlie beach is in excess of $2800, thats without any repair
costs that i may get hammered with, in light of your comment i expect you to hire my
house in Qld for at least 10 days at full high season rates in penance for taking the

Update is that the fault codes show a potential Turbo issue, they have been checking out the hoses for leaks etc
this afternoon, but would have thought if it was a hose they would find it quite quickly.. just hope the extended

I am size particular but I don't talk about it anymore as I got into trouble. I have moved recently to a house, can you believe it Bean, without a pool......aarrrgghh. We are weighing up whether to build one or spend more time at the beach instead, it's only a mile from our house. More beach time = beach car (can't mess up the X6) = older RRS? that's going to be the deal with Mrs BKHK if we don't have a pool.
