Yesterday, after a round trip of about 60 miles at speeds between 50/60MPH, on stopping outside a shop with the engine idling, I could hear a rhythmic puffing noise (actually more like a farting type sound) coming from the front offside. Occurred regularly every 15/20 seconds and could be heard inside and outside the car and I could feel a very slight vibration through the selector lever when the noise occurred.
No dash warnings, lights or anything else and no dip in the level of the car (thinking air suspension). Drove home, switched off and on restarting, all's ok. Checked all I could see and found DSC fluid level low and topped it up and nothing else obvious found.
Suspected it may be connected to air con so switched it off and noise still present. Air con appears working fine as it was blasting cold air out before and after.
Started car and left it idling for a while and no noise.
Drove round town today, stopped at home, no noise, and then later a 30 mile journey and on stopping car after the 30 mile journey, could hear the noise again, nothing at start of the journey.
As I say, no dash warnings, warning lights, adverse handling and I'm still getting the same fuel consumption. Car is level with no drop at any corner.
Thanks in advance and any ideas?? Cheers
