This is why I dread servicing......

2 years ago my car was dropped off a ramp during the service

Last year I changed it to avoid servicing but had a load of problems so rejected replacement

This year I plucked up the courage to get it serviced by another dealer who now informs me the problem with the sub woofer that was replaced last year under warranty just a few months old is that the trim is trashed - broken clips, etc and been glued in place by the previous dealer

They now need to order a new trim to repair the problem but someone has to pay for it as it will not be covered by warranty which is fair enough so I need to sort this now......

That is not what you needed. I wonder if the previous stealer will have a service record to confirm the repair ? Either way someone there knows what they've done and should have the balls to own up and put it right. You certainly shouldn't be responsible. It's like a little kid doing something and thinking they wouldn't be found out. Unbelievable really.

I really doesn't help the LR dealer reputation (which already pretty bloody poor in general) when this happens. I had mine serviced last week and gave the dealer a glowing report to LR customer relations, but I'm beginning I might have been stitched up on some warranty work……….

Yeaaahhhh - picked my RRS up today after a looooooooong week in Ecolander

It should of been ready Thursday but they had to wait for the parts then it was Friday but they were having difficulty refitting the new boot trim so Saturday they rang to say it was ready but I couldn't get through to collect

Imagine my shock when I popped up the boot to check the high standard you'd expect from a LR trained technician to find the boot trim loose

Imagine my surprise when I look in the gap to see the clips have been cut off and there is a big blob of silicone/glue holding the trim together

Please read post No1 again then tell me it's not just me

What you gonna do about that - do we stand a chance we work hard so someone who has not got a clue & no obvious care get to service - repair our assets.. disgrace.

what a nightmare i use falcon performance in middlesbrough ,ive got a tvr cerbera and a lotus elise also and they are rather brilliant ! would they be too far away to consider ?

I have avoided using indi during warranty period on my LR'S because in my experience it complicates issues with buck passing

DP has rang to apologise followed by call from Service Manager to say parts on order and will be done properly this time. Only problem now is another 72 mile round trip to dealer and I'm stacked out this week - plus already done it twice last week

Now sorted and everything working properly for the first time since I got it - only taken a year

Fingers crossed until same time next year
