Yet more incompetence!

This is why I dread servicing...... Big Cry

2 years ago my car was dropped off a ramp during the service Thud

Last year I changed it to avoid servicing but had a load of problems so rejected replacement Banging Head

This year I plucked up the courage to get it serviced by another dealer who now informs me the problem with the sub woofer that was replaced last year under warranty just a few months old is that the trim is trashed - broken clips, etc and been glued in place by the previous dealer Shocked

They now need to order a new trim to repair the problem but someone has to pay for it as it will not be covered by warranty which is fair enough so I need to sort this now......

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

That is not what you needed. I wonder if the previous stealer will have a service record to confirm the repair ? Either way someone there knows what they've done and should have the balls to own up and put it right. You certainly shouldn't be responsible. It's like a little kid doing something and thinking they wouldn't be found out. Unbelievable really.

I really doesn't help the LR dealer reputation (which already pretty bloody poor in general) when this happens. I had mine serviced last week and gave the dealer a glowing report to LR customer relations, but I'm beginning I might have been stitched up on some warranty work……….

Hope you get sorted. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Yeaaahhhh - picked my RRS up today after a looooooooong week in Ecolander Very Happy

It should of been ready Thursday but they had to wait for the parts then it was Friday but they were having difficulty refitting the new boot trim so Saturday they rang to say it was ready but I couldn't get through to collect Rolling Eyes

Imagine my shock when I popped up the boot to check the high standard you'd expect from a LR trained technician to find the boot trim loose Shocked

Imagine my surprise when I look in the gap to see the clips have been cut off and there is a big blob of silicone/glue holding the trim together Thud

Please read post No1 again then tell me it's not just me Banging Head

These fell out of the gap -

Good to see on the Blackvue that they took it for a couple of runs to check the lumbar support repair worked or in case the battery went flat or it seized up while it was parked for the week Rolling Eyes

So parked next to mine was a nearly new RRS2 with 8k miles for £65K..... was I tempted..... ummmhhh NO! Why not find an indie? You don't need to use a LR dealership for servicing... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I have avoided using indi during warranty period on my LR'S because in my experience it complicates issues with buck passing Sad

This year I had a free service due to last years problems and a couple of warranty items so gave 5th dealer the job hoping to receive standard expected this time Rolling Eyes

I bought this rrsport on a 2 year 0% deal and am now thinking next year when deal ends I have to consider my options seriously - one of them is "TATA" JLR and Hello world cup winners Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

So true BC Sad

DP has rang to apologise followed by call from Service Manager to say parts on order and will be done properly this time. Only problem now is another 72 mile round trip to dealer and I'm stacked out this week - plus already done it twice last week Rolling Eyes

They've offered to collect but I'm not keen on anyone else driving my P&J particularly when I've had problems already Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Now sorted and everything working properly for the first time since I got it - only taken a year Rolling Eyes

Fingers crossed until same time next year Whistle

Not wanting to be picky but if a customer has to wait a week for their car then go back again because it's not right some fuel might be a good way to show you're sorry for the inconvenience - in the last 2 weeks I have made 4 trips to dealer so 140 miles of fuel and 8 hours lost time - ok half of that was necessary for service but the rest was not Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

I think you would have been quite justified in asking for a tank of fuel, Muddy. These clowns need to realise that not only their time has value.
