The gap is very obvious.

Every time I look ... it just amazes me, it's a complete and utter disgrace that JLR think this is acceptable ... perhaps in the 70's it may have been ...

Interestingly enough, my purchase contract is direct with JLR... no dealership in the middle to act as a buffer.

My new RRS has arrived and just went to go and see it it looked great however then I noticed that the dreaded gap was there however I did point it out to the Dealer but he would not acknowledge it.

I am due to pick it up 1st Sept however don't know whether I should reject the car or what are my options?

They all have it. Reject on what basis? Get it acknowledged on handover ( photograph or whatever ) and wait to see what happens in the future. 

They don't all have this problem - mine hasn't.

But it does rattle from both doors at 60mph+

Most of those who staunchly protested their cars did not have the gap were found to be looking in the wrong place...

I will be accepting my car next week on the basis of the great work Robot has done... but will

I stand corrected - on closer inspection I do indeed have THE GAP!! Not good on a £65k car, but it is the rattling that drives you nuts, not the gap

Mine has the gap too...expect that there will be some corrective action from JLR side.
But then I came to think about the 850 mm wading depth...? What if I go wading here? must be lots of water getting into the gap and where will that end up?
