Mine has the gap you have got to get down to bumper level and then you see it.

Apart from the poor appearance if you are kneeling down behind your car with the tailgate open looking at the bumper, can someone remind me what is the claimed technical problem that this causes? Regards

No real update yet fellas , there isn't any technical issues , it seems as if when the plastic has been trimmed to fit under the rubber seal they have been a bit enthusiastic with the Stanley knife ( think we've all done it fitting the odd carpet ) I have every confidence that the dealer will sort it , the body shop manager has seen their demo and in his opinion it is a bit of a botch , hopefully I will have a answer in the next few days , and I will post the latest rob 2014/5 rr sport hse, Marianna black , silver roof , silver door mirror caps , privacy , deployable tow bar

Apart from the bumper gap thing , for those of you a bit concerned about other opinions posted on this site and I add opinions which everyone is entitled to , the car drives mint just got to our place in North Wales which is a mix of dual carriageway , motorway ans A roads ( first proper drive since collecting last week ) roads I know well been doing it 20 odd yrs , into a roundabout , brake hard , turn in and boot it out brilliant , you can hear the engine noise as it's going up thru the gears yes it has character and no it's not a sterile Toyota , something I was concerned about , check the bumper first and then get it bought 2014/5 rr sport hse, Marianna black , silver roof , silver door mirror caps , privacy , deployable tow bar

So the purpose of this seal is to stop water coming into the car via the tailgate, and it seals this perfectly. The gap is a cosmetic gap to the plastic bumper, which you can only see if looking for it, and does not affect the function of the seal.

Where's the big issue here that some individuals are getting very excited about...

Excited is probably a tad dramatic quite right this is not affecting the door seal , the issue is poor fit finish , if you had a carpet fitted at home and they cut it badly but hid it behind the couch would you be happy , !!!! 2014/5 rr sport hse, Marianna black , silver roof , silver door mirror caps , privacy , deployable tow bar
