Check the wiring behind the airbag, if it's not that, it may be the rotary coupler/clockspring

I'm new to Range Rover ownership too, yesterday all the buttons on the left hand side of the steering wheel stopped working after being intermittent for a few days. Now I don't have any cruise control.

Hi Samantha, I live by Junc 25 M1 (Sandiacre area) and I use an indy in Wirksworth called DLS.

If you take the airbag off, have a good look at the wiring. It's possible that it may be chaffed and a cheap (free!) soldering repair.
