Speed camera detectors - advice and recommendations?

Anybody bought and fitted one of these and how would you rate it?

I'm considering one and mainly concerned about fixed cameras.

thanks in advance.

Any of the pogo products are good, I use Alert plus, have several cradles and one unit which I move from vehicle to vehicle. £90 for three years updates is a bit strong but it has saved my arse so many times and also comes with laser detector 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

hello simple 1 i just googled one of those and see they are pretty expensive at circa 250 quid but i noted thay had built in alerts so i didnt see the requirement to pay a subscription (unless im missing summat?)

Am i correct that an updated land rover disc wouldnt have camera warnings?

Ive even considered being a total cheapskate and using an old tom tom that I have and just leaving it on with no route planned just to get speed camera alerts?

Do need updated as they cover all types including average speed cameras on motorways which move, obviously static cameras don't Whistle
They usually have special offer sales, I bought one unit, two cradles and extra laser detector for £150.
Tomtom will sort of work but they don't like heated screens so you will end up buying an external arial 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

ooh 150 sounds like a good price. I will keep my eyes open and see if i can spot a similar bargain.
i saw a used one sold on the bay for 180 so i reckon il have to have a keen eye to get one for the price that you did.

I have Pogo Alert (plus? It's a small diddly one with colour touch screen) but I never use it anymore. Just use my eyes and ease off the throttle. Got caught while using it once, 38 in a 30 or something, because I mistook it for a 40 limit... so what's the point? L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

I have a Valentine 1 which is brilliant, it saved me twice last weekend alone. This is the only State where they are legal. We have hidden cameras in bushes here so you need technology to beat them. Not sure if they are available in Blighty? Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2009 Buckingham Blue RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2010 Alaska White RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated

Current - 2010 Java Black RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Current- 2024 RRS P400 SE Dynamic

Law in uk is a bit grey about detectors. Not like rest of Europe where they are banned and incur €1000 on the spot fine. If the devise gives safety warning, ie a school, they are legal, if they only give speed trap warnings then illegal. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Don't forget speed cam database can be installed as poi on models from I believe 2012/13. I use the ones from pocketgps. & they work fine.
