Wow, varied opinions then. My dealer told me if I was to part ex with him for another RRS and it did not have a full LRSH that he could not put it on his forecourt and would be sold off at auction etc as he could not put warranty on a car where he was not 100% that indy had used genuine parts oils and so on, therefore he could not give me as much for it, has anyone had this before or is it BS. If we're talking businessmen then we also can't leave out the role marketing has to play in selling a car. Take pics when its detailed, explain where it's been serviced, show the engine bay, if its got 8mm of tread left then shout about it as you've gotta try and stand out from the crowd.

It sounds like you're unconvinced so go with the stealer, not worth losing sleep about just my opinion and what I would do. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project. DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights. TO DO: color code sills and pillars. |

Not losing sleep over it really, was just wondering about other peoples experiences. I think I am heading towards indy now, not about the money really but it does help. Main reason is the completely different conversations you can have with several local LR dealers about service prices, deals and what need doing.

We need a price comparison site, but they'll probably collude and bang goes that idea! Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

I agree with the £300 its not a massive saving and true why skimp on my pride and joy, its just the general feeling I get myself and from this forum on dealerships. Current Volvo XC90 R Design T8

i think he's asking how to achieve maximum value when he sells his car. explaining that it's more than just a flrsh stamp is pretty smart of us in fact! will an extra £300 on service give me an extra £400 when i sell it? i doubt this is the case. i'd rather spend that £300 on a detail or to replace a worn tyre. if you can't see how these things are interconnected then we think VERY differently, that's obviously a very good thing, but I do know that the OP is listening and that's the main thing here

No you have assumed that's what he wants, I've simply answered the question he has actually asked.

But you're not skimping on your pride and joy. You're getting it properly serviced by someone who knows what they're doing but doesn't need to charge you £100+ / hour just because he has a LR logo above the door. If anything, going to an indy is likely to result in more stuff being done in a timely manner because it's cheaper to do so. So it's actually better care of you P&J, not skimping. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders 2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed |

it's a little comical when someone comes along and starts TELLING PEOPLE how to answer a question in the way they deem appropriate, or in this case TELLING YOU THAT YOU'VE ANSWERED IN TOTALLY THE WRONG WAY. it's like being at school again, the forum police!!!
