Time to take a look at previous posting where a member can supply what you want or else you are going to need a large oven to heat the glue to about 300 degrees.
Might be an idea to talk to a local window tinter if you don't fancy that much open surgery, I had mine covered in a mesh that darkens standard lights
2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

It's easy.

You just need a heat gun and a wall paper scraper (don't use a screw driver as it's will cause damage).

Just lightly heat and keep trying to seperate they will split you just have to be gentle.

Don't wish to be a kill-joy but are the 'tinted' or modified lights still legal.

Apart from the law your insurers might consider this a modification and if you didn't tell them you could find yourself with a nasty surprise especially if the incident involved in a prang that the cops attended.

They are not tinted, it's a mesh therefore conforms to legal requirements and doesn't reduce the emitted light. Not even bothering to get into the "have you informed your insurance company" crap. Rolling Eyes 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Language a bit harsh - Simple1 "Not even bothering to get into the "have you informed your insurance company" crap."

Not sure its '...crap...' when insurance fraud and the cost of accidents is running high and we are well aware that insurers are making good use of their small print: everyone will make their own decision.

It would be really easy to ring a broker and see if this 'mod' was something or nothing

Really simple, all you need is a heat gun and a bit of time.

Heat all they way round and then when you think its hot enough heat it some more just to be sure, then remove one of the round caps that you would remove to replace a bulb, this gives you somewhere to get a decent grip and slowly pull it apart whilst heating it some more as you go along.

Little tip for you though, don't stretch the sealant too far as you will end up getting in a mess and it wont be even when you come to stick it back together, I've found (and ive done this a few times now lol) that the best way is to prize it open about an inch and using old scissors cut through the sealant so it stays evenly around the rim. It makes for a much easier and tidier job Thumbs Up

Are you wanting to paint the lens or the inside of the lamp black?
I'm presuming it's the inside of the body you are painting otherwise you wouldn't need to take the lens off, you'd just spray the front of the lamp plastic/glass.

Painting the inside of the lamp body wouldn't affect light output so you shouldn't need to inform your insurers. So long as you haven't altered the beam it will still pass an MOT too. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.
