Hi guys! New to the forum but had a love for rangeroversport since I was young.
Would love some advice from you experienced people on here!
I'm looking to buy a rangeroversport next year with a budget of around 15k. I'm abit stuck on what to do.I lm 23 so the 2.7 would suit me best in insurace and running costs.
I need your advice and wisdom on what to go for...
Should I go for a 2005/2006 model with lower miles or go for a newer model with higher miles?

I would pass for a few years, as a 23 yr old, you will pay threw the nose for a group 46 car, or put it another way, you won't get insurance....... 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱

Thanks for the advice. I have 2years no claims and have done online quote for a 2005 plate comes in at around £800 for the year. Not bad as I was thinking more around £1.500 mark.
Insurance is high for young drivers but I am happy to pay around £800.

I tried to insure my 24 yr old in my car, with six years ncb, I was quoted £2300 to add him. Hence the warning. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I say that if you really want a RRS and you can afford it you should get one bought and enjoy it. Just be careful with service history and condition. In many cases you can tell within 2 miniutes if a car has been looked after, if not you must walk away from it, however attrractive the price, spec., colour etc. A higher mileage doesn't necessarily mean you will have problems but it must have been cared for. The secrret is to take your time, do the research and find the right car. It took me 5 months.

I don't class myself as old lol I ment my father had one when I was young and I have always wanted one since the day I sat in it as a child.

Just take your time and don't buy the first one you see. There are many "sheds" out there and as others have said its all about condition and history. A high mileage car may have just sat on the motorway all its life where a low mileage car may have only done the school run every day!!
The list of what to look for, on this web site is brilliant. Another good idea is to make up a check list and use it when you view each car, so you miss nothing - get the right car and it will be amazing - get the wrong one and ahhhh.

I have just bought my first RRS, which took me about 3 months to find the right one for me.
The more cars you look at drive, the easier it becomes to spot a neglected car or a good car

I was 25 when I had my 2006 2.7

Zero NCB & 2 accidents (both my fault & total loss) - I Paid £1200 for the first year and £800 the following year.

Go for it  LCFC. Receiver of threatening letters from Overfinch.

Thanks cannon I have looked at a few on autotrader but not viewed one in person as of yet. It has always been my dream car and everytime I see one on the road it reminds me of how beautiful they are I just hope they are as nice to drive.
Alot of people have warned me of them due to running cost and maintenance...
I was considering the 2.7 to reduce the running costs but is this the best way to go about it?
