So what happens when you got the 3rd row seats option? I would think then rear bench would have to fold up and away... ?

I did discover that a firm press on the back of the seat locks it into the base and leaves a floor that it not far off being flat.

I think it is much easier to lower the seat back when you don't have to lift the seat base first so actually for loading stuff that might mark the leather seats the new model is probably an improvement.
