Just wondering if during the rebuild you could actually see the variable vanes. I've seen some videos of a turbo being dismantled for cleaning and the vanes mechanism was totally clogged with half an inch of sticky black goo. There is a product from Innotec for cleaning the turbo but it has to come off so not a simple job! 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

With the black smoke and being down on grunt, I'm wondering if it's something more simple such as a split turbo hose or even a damaged intercooler. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

yes we could see the vanes and everything was freed off and a new actuator bar was fitted and working freely,i have checked hoses,i suppose it could be a faulty intercooler but i would think it would make a noise when i hoofed car, thanks for help any more ideas would be great silverRRS 2.7 TDV6 22"WHEELS FULL COLOUR CODE,STEPS,REMAP..gone
