Anyone had any problems with the fuel gauge (MY10 onwards)? Mine seems to have gone faulty and is now showing 0 fuel even though tank is full. Any ideas? Or is it a visit to the dealer? 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury - 3.0 SDV6 - Santorini Black

Had this happen to me the other day..got LR assistance out and they banged the sensors underneath and the fuel level came back on again after significant hammering. thought my fuel had been nicked at first... |

Ok, so it would appear that both the rear fuel pump and sensor failed and had to be replaced. Not a cheap fix and a bit dissapointed with Land Rover in the fact that they will not recognise the product weakness. Good news is that the car is back up and running a dream.. DM |

Product weakness? 5 people on a forum of almost 9000 would certainly not suggest a problem to me. Just think you have suffered from what happens, wear and tear and just general part failure. It's never a great thing to hard things go wrong but as another member so rightly pointed out, we seem to be now in a society where people expect all the responsibility to stay with the manufacturers for an indefinite period of time. 10+ years ago people would pop to their local backstreet garage, get it fixed, pay the bill and not complain about a part failing outside of warranty.

I have had this on my 59 RRS for the last few months (fuel gauge sat at 0. It sparked back to life for a couple of days in the middle then went again). I took it to a dealership this morning and they said the *diagnostic* would be 6-8 hours at £155ph because they had to take the whole fuel tank out. I politely declined. This doesn't sound like anything above! Shall I try again?

Yeah, that's pretty much how I reacted. Then sighed wearily. |
