Speeding ticket hearing

Hi all,
A while ago I was fought spying at 37mph. Unfortunately, I have missed all the deadlines to pay the fine, settle the case outside the court etc etc etc...

Now I have to appear in court later this week which I am going to do obviously. What can I expect at the hearing. What kind of punishment fine?

Thanks. Wish me luck ... Neutral Vadim A.

If you was caught spying, your in real trouble Rolling with laughter , if you was caught speeding you will receive points and a fine of around £300-£400 its more due to court cost etc.

good luck and dont worry, it aint that bad.

remember wear a suit, speak when spoken too and with respect, and they sometimes ease off a little.. Thumbs Up

Laughing i would think it will be a case of throwing the book at you

If you can show a reason why you failed to pay/respond, such as been out of the country, in hospital, it might help your case

I don't think they will take been busy at work or been forgetful as a reason, so good look

^^^ Rolling with laughter

Expect 3 points and £100 fine + court costs. They will also ask you to fill in a form of your means of income before you go to the court room. Whistle Tell the you are not filling it in as its got nothing to do with them what your income is. Wink

is the proof of income form a requirement? or a reason to increase a fine Confused

i would expect court cost to be ontop of the £100 fine too

They ask for this to see if and how you can pay any fine they serve on you. If you are a layabout then there is a chance you will get off with £1.00 a week till the fine is paid in full. If they see you are a wealthy man, ie got a job, then you get 14 days or there abouts to pay the fine in full.

A normal SP30 or what ever its called nowadays is £60 and 3 points ( i think), or you could opt for paying £100 and doing a driver awareness day course with no points, but due to a none show it can be up to £600 fine sadly.

once the case is finished, you will receive a form for froof of earnings, this will allow the courts to assess what can be paid each month.

my mates just gone through all this, and i had to bail him out as the bailiffs turned up wanting 600 sovs..

Sounds okay...
Nick.. actually - I am setting up a business at the moment, so Im afraid my excuse is actually "I was too busy and completely forgot abut the letter from the court" I have no other excuse... I am self employed, trying to set up my own business which at the moment making no income whatsoever. Big Cry Vadim A.

But caught speeding in a Range Rover? and claiming being short of cash (however much it may be true) may not go down to well..

NEVER wear a suit in Magistrates Court!

Go in looking as dirty and dishevelled as possible and explain how you have personal relationship, along with emotional problems which lead to your lapse in concentration when you were caught speeding.

Don't shave, don't shine your shoes, basically look like a bum.

I walked away from becoming a magistrate in disgust when I became aware of the class and wealth profiling that is carried out by those on the bench.

If you are deemed to be middle class then you WILL BE GIVEN A HIGHER LEVEL OF FINE!

Welcome to the UK justice system!

Jim
