From new, I used the EPB all the time. I'd apply it at traffic lights and drive off with the auto release and also use it whenever I parked up, again driving off with auto release. Now fair enough, mine was only 2 years into a 3 year new car warranty when I sold it, but there weren't any signs of trouble that I was aware of. As RRSTDV8 says, just use it, as I'd say leaving it unused for long periods of time is going to lead to sticking problems at some point anyway. |

Rather than going to The trouble of getting your BM coded would it not be easier just to go and buy another RRS? |

I can see your point BC but at least the RRS has a spare wheel |

.....but that's why they invented run-flats. I can drive to the garage at my leisure and get a monkey to change it for me, none of this getting dirty at the side of the road malarkey, or the sheer dispare of when I go to change it finding that some scrote has already helped themselves to it |

Thanks for all your comments about how to use the EPB. Been using EPB for 5 days now, went out for a drive tonight, the noise was horrendous, I stopped to have a look under the car, nothing there, drove 1/2 mile and still making a noise, put EPB back on and drove a bit more, same noise, turned round went home, reversed onto the drive and the noise went !!! Set off and no further noise. Would you say this is the EBP that proberly hasn't been used and has just stuck on a little, and will free up, should I return the car to the Dealer or just wait and see if it happens again. I forgot to say that a couple of weeks ago i went on a Landrover Experience and the instructor got me to 50mph on a rural road and said he would demonstrate how the EPD can be used by the passenger for an emergency stop if for instance the driver was having a heart attack ! So anyway he flicked it on while i was driving at 50mph and brilliantly it brought the rrs to a rapid but totally controlled stop , which i thought was pretty amazing . I would add it was their car not mine . |
