I don't have any photo's of my watch on its own, I really should have for the insurance though. When it comes back I'll take some photo's.
Not too sure if I really want all the scratches polishing out, it gives it that 'lived in' look that's taken me 12 years to create.

Anyway, this is a photo of my model:

Thanks Very Happy

I bought mine in Gran Canaria whilst on holiday and saved about a quarter of the price it was in the UK. I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

It's genuine. I bought it from a registered Breitling dealers (listed on Breitling website), it came with the guarantee / service book etc, & came in the Bakelite box. The serial number matches with the documentation & certificate.

I tend to do a bit of research before I buy something expensive & I'd looked at prices in Gran Canaria the year before I bought it and compared that to the price at home. For the money I saved I got a lovely tan Thumbs Up

You could always suggest a Canaries trip (Canaries are duty free) for a birthday etc, & whilst you are there look in a few jewellers windows. It means you can afford a slightly more expensive model.

Loved ones get a holiday - you get a lovely watch Thumbs Up Thumbs Up I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

You've hit on something here Russ, lol
I was worried you got a good quality rep from them dodgy shops Whistle
nothing wrong with quality reps though, ive got one coming for work only, and the Gen for nights out.

We are due a holiday, so will start looking now.

So am i right in saying i can legally bring back a watch from Canaries with no tax slapped on it once i get to our customs?

Rolex here too. Bought a GMT11 'Pepsi' a few years back and its increased in value. Out of the 3 you suggest, i would go for Omega.

Tags drop in price faster than a hookers thundercrackers, although that wont matter if your planning on keeping it. I have tended to trade after a few years, Submariner date on the cards next for me. Omegas seem to be holding value better these days.

Have looked at Breitlings but i've always thought theres too much going on with them, seem quite cluttered.

Just my personal opinion though. Like has been said before, don't buy it just to sit in the box for special occasions. 2007 TDV6 HSE

Well, quite a bit less.

From left to right

- Aerospace, bought in 1986, daily wear since. (1986)

- Montbrillant, limited ed. "100 years aviation". (2003)

- Skyracer, limited ed. "Superconstellation" (100 made) issued to help the Superconstellation association to buy a new engine for their aircraft. Price was less than half usual retail price. (2010)

- Emergency, limited ed. "Orbiter" (Balloon flight around the world) (1999)

- Navitimer, limited ed. "50 years Navitimer" (2002) '08 RRS TDV8

As it was a gift to myself I'm not sure of the legalities of import duties. No doubt someone will know better & could advise. Either way you get a holiday and a watch at either 75% +/- of its UK price or you have to pay the duty & pay full price. I wore mine as I came back home through customs.Wear it as you return & don't make a big deal of it (don't be too flash, etc), customs are usually more focussed on people importing excess cigarettes from the Canaries to worry about one individual wearing a watch. Whistle Wink I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.
