MOT time !!!

Well she is having her mot in the morning, and yearly service and health check. As she has been good, she will get her diff oils changed and a double flush for the gear box.
Also treated her to a set of side steps.
Fingers crossed all will be good.
Cheers
Bob

I had diff oils done at LR dealership and it wasn't expensive in the scheme of things. Of course, I ended up with a new rear diff a few months later but I'm not commenting on whether the two are related... Shocked

The gearbox flush will cost a bit more though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I am having it done at an Indie garage, expect about 1500 all in, but its money well spent, no point in scrimping when it comes to maintenance. would be interested to find out what other folk have paid for the double flush filters etc for the gear box.
also went for the genuine L/R side steps.
Cheers

My gearbox oil change was done at an indie and cost about £190 incl. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Not sure - I'd need to dig out the invoice to see how much oil was included. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

The gearbox holds 11 litres of oil. And the oil is not cheap

Either you only had a few litres changed, or they used the wrong oil

Double flushing also only replaces around half of the old gearbox oil...

What you really need, is a power flush, which replaces ALL of the oil Thumbs Up

Probably a basic oil change then. I know the pan/filter was cheap on the invoice and his hourly rate was low too.

I'd like a megaflush but no one seems to do it anywhere sensibly close to me. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

well it failed !!! needs a wheel bearing and front brake line,
Also had an advisory about worn front arms?
Will get the mot sorted and see where i stand with having the arms ( or whatever) with the warranty.
Its only done 3000 miles since i bought it and had a full health check before they would issue the select extended warranty.
I will have to go have a word with L/R when i get back to the uk.
