Peachy they look great but having seen what LR charge for them, if I need lights on during the day, the side lights/ head lights come on. 2015 Range Rover Sport Autobiography Dynamic SDV6

DRL's are a waste of time.

If its dark, put your lights on. If vis is rubbish, put your lights on.

If you cant see a car - you need your eyes checking. Mike

Well, potentially saving £30 per day seems like a good reason for having them '08 RRS TDV8

Im not sure how you save £30 per day...but I suppose they also do cost.

I have the new DRLs on the new disco - im pleased that they can be disabled.

DRL's are Another stupid European directive. Mike

Well, here in Switzerland lights are mandatory during the the day since January 1st, if you forget, is a £30 pounds fine if they stop you.
Same in Italy, mandatory and fine.

So potentially saving a fine to have them on automatically, or have LED DLRs.

The added cost, fuel and bulbs, is probably cheaper.

And activation is free, at least at my dealer. '08 RRS TDV8

Fortunately the UK is still free (just)!

I don't think it applies to foreign drivers does it and I assume SUI has gone further than the European expectation that only new (designed) cars have them fitted

Still a stupid thing - dreamt by idiots for idiots (sorry)

Imagine how much more use the xenon bulb companies will get...given the fairy lights aren't drls Mike

Well, yes, it applies to foreign drivers too.

The law says you have to have the lights on when driving, how do you turn them is up to you, manually or automatically.

Yep, I know in UK you do not have dumb laws, but we are not so blessed (or smart Rolling Eyes ) unfortunately '08 RRS TDV8

another reason not to go to Switzerland then...stupid rule.

Oh and one other reason its stupid - DRLs don't turn the rear lights on, so its not like they help others to see you from behind, just when your driving at them. Mike

Now you have touched on something that really irritates me.

I have lost track of the number of drivers who are driving in poor visibility with no rear lights, but the front DRL;s on

I am convinced that they assume the rear lights are on as well, the dealers really need to explain how they work.

Why, why are they designed to operate in that way? 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

I know mine isn't from factory but my rear lights are on all the time it must be the way OverFinch wired the DRL in...Not sure this is a good thing or not...

I believe that the LR DLR activation turns on the rear lights too. '08 RRS TDV8
