Sadly, if the service history is with the same garage I would suggest that it's not worth the paper it's written on. For a start, the cam belt wasn't "due soon" - it was over due by about 2 years! As you know, the belt is 105k OR 7 years whichever is sooner. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yeah exactly ! So for him to say it be ok is bit worrying as he knows the year of the car, good newsy friend runs a local garage he's bit more pricey but only by £40 and he will change all the belts including auxillary , and will blank my egr , drop it Thursday night pick up Friday evening so relieved Smile

I guess your mate will change the other belts while 'playing' and you might politely remind him to make sure all idlers for both the injection pump at the rear and timing belt rotate freely and smoothly.

Haha he will do it cheap as he can, will blanking the egr valves make much of a difference ?

It's cam belt change today Smile 105800 not a bad cam belt holding it together over the years Laughing
