Wynns Transmission Flush - Gearbox Oil change on a TDV8

Having passed 75k miles and deciding to keep the car for a few years yet, I wanted to change diff and gearbox oils at the next service.

Diffs done and then I found out about the complexity of changing gearbox oil - the standard LR approach is to double flush, which would only change about 75% of the oil. Also the discussion about 150K/10 years being way too long a change interval according to ZF.

Much discussion on the D3/D4 site about Megafush/Transmission Flush. This changes 100% of the oil.

Geoff - on the D3/D4 site - has now sourced the connectors to work on a TDV8 and did mine last weekend. Great mechanic by the way Thumbs Up . Old oil was in fair condition.

I now have a gearbox that is much smoother than before. Plus the satisfaction of an early oil change as a preventative measure.

Now the custom leather interior idea .....

A double flush will be lucky to replace 50% of the old oil Whistle

A drain and refill takes 4 litres, a flush takes 11 litres

you may want to double check that as the filter is in the sump and it can not be taken off without an awfull lot of labour hours due to the amount of work that needs to be done to release it.
There is a kit however, you cut the sump in half and refit a new version, with the filter in a housing.
I think the sump is around £90. 07,TDV8,Black, Black Heated leather all round, Rear Entertainment with Headpones & Remote, TV, DVD, Pure Dab Digital Radio, Sidesteps, Adaptive Headlights, sunroof, now working fuel burning heater Smile)))

I think the sump is around £90.

I did double check with the garage and they have confirmed the filter will be changed, I guess this reflects on the price they charge.
