Perhaps - since the RRS electronic are supposed to shut down completely about 15 or 20mins after the ignition is switched off the partial circuit of the tailgate switch is continuously detected and the various ECUs don't then turn off and the car stay 'live' eventually flattening the battery. |

the contacts corrode inside giving a signal of open tailgate which drains your battery |

Took the switch out & it looks like brand new inside no rust or condensation could this still be the problem 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

You have to remove the cover. Open the upper tailgate to get at the screws from the inside. Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

I recently changed out my tailagte switch on a 2006, just removed the rubber cover from switch and prized it out with a screwdriver. HALLY |
